In Germany, the dumbest thing you can do is anything Pro-Nazi. It'll land you in prison pretty quickly. Many tourists have been spotted in front of German parliment, likely trying to be funny by throwing up a "Heil Hitler" salute. That is a period of history the Germans wish they could take a mulligan on and don't want a repeat. So, they decided, "let's not do that again," and made it illegal to be a member of the Nazi party or do Nazi-like things.

The US might have their own "let's not do that again" revelation in 10-20 years if Donald Trump is elected.
The metric system is far superior to the imperial system or US system. It's unfathomable as to why it hasn't been replaced in the states. Some people seem to forget that if you're leaving the US (with a couple exceptions but I doubt you're going there) things are going to be in centimeters, meters, kilometers and kilograms. If you're looking at the temperature in say, Canada, it's going to be in Celsius, not Fahrenheit.

Someone in Canada spotted a family of tourists, at the airport, dressed in full winter gear...in the middle of summer. I guess they didn't realize 30 degrees C is about 85 degrees F, as it does get warm in Canada.
